SideShift alternatives for app UGC in 2026
Updated · 6 min read · By Yap Factory
The short answer
SideShift is a monthly platform (from $299 a month, plus each creator’s pay) where app brands post jobs, creators apply, and the videos go out on creators’ own accounts. The main alternatives split by how you want to pay:
Per video, no subscription: Yap Factory (about £15 ($18) for a first video, all in) or JoinBrands’ free plan. Per view: Noise or Content Rewards. Files with a licence, monthly: Insense or soona UGC.
What SideShift is
SideShift is a creator marketplace with the operations built in: job posts, applications, contracts, post tracking and payouts. It leans towards apps. It syncs App Store Connect data, and its customers include Partiful, Replit and GPTZero.
As of 27 September 2026, plans are $299 (Starter, 15 creators live at once), $499 (Growth, 50 creators) and $999 a month (Scale), less if billed yearly, with a 7-day free trial. Creator pay is separate; SideShift says its median account costs $7 to $9 a video. Creators post on their own accounts, you can reuse the videos as ads, and nobody is paid until you approve the work.
It’s a strong fit for an app team that wants many creators posting every week and the tracking to match.
Why teams look elsewhere
- A monthly plan before the first video. If you want three videos this month, $299 plus creator pay is a lot per video.
- Sorting applicants. SideShift says its median job gets 284 applications in 48 hours. That’s choice, and it’s also an afternoon of reviewing.
- Posts rather than files. The model is built around creators posting. If you only want ad creative to run yourself, a marketplace that delivers files fits better.
- Paying only for results. Some teams would rather pay per view than per creator.

Insense and soona UGC: files with a licence
Insense is $400 to $500 a month plus a 10% fee, with videos from $100 and a perpetual digital licence. soona UGC (formerly Trend) sells videos from $89 each with the creator’s pay set for you.
